The Aphrodisiacs are a three piece crazy experimental band fae Motherwell.

Sometime in 2002 they realised they weren't playing music with any other bands and decided to do something about it. With a palmtop digital studio and super mario racing on in the background they set out to record something with a dance beat and weird keyboard noises. The results were to become the title track from their album, "This Is A Campaign". John Peel liked the track, started playing it on his show on Radio One and soon invited them down to the world famous maida vale studios in london to record a session for his show. Later that year the track featured in his festive fifty chart, voted for by listeners to his show.

In Edinburgh SL Records received a CD with This Is A Campaign scrawled on it in black marker pen. This sat on the desk for a few weeks until Ed heard a track with the same name on John Peel's show on Radio One. Loving what he heard he dug out the demo and listening to it again and again rang up the band and plans were hatched to release the album

The band spent their money on equipment and their time playing across Scotland and recording their debut album in their studio in Motherwell. They recorded a track for Peel's burns day show. As well as Peel playing all the tracks they recorded, they picked up plays on stations across the UK.

To celebrate the release of their album debut album they went down to London to record a second session for John Peel. Their debut album "This Is A Campaign" hit the shops in November 2004
