Welcome to the latest installment of the SL Record singles club. Another classic from an Edinburgh label, this month a track from the seminal Human Condition Records, currently sadly now on hiatus. New track comes from US artists Poles Apart

I remember when Grant McNamara, producer at Human Condition's chamber's studio, was first enthusing about this band on the back seat of the LRT bus back from Granton - I don't think I'd ever seen him so excited about a band. Sputnik's Down recorded a stunning EP and album before sadly going their seperate ways despite a slew of critical praise being heaped upon them. David Roy, founder member of the band, when on to form the comedy monikered indie rock band Dananananaykroyd

I was orginal turned onto Poles Apart's music by Heather from about.com. Poles Apart is the long distance recording project of Brandon Whitesell and Roy Brooks, who also records under the name Offish, and has contributed a track to our moondog project
