Misty's Big Adventure are currently mixing their new album, or rather having it mixed, in London. It'll still be a few months before it sees the light of day (Grandmaster Gareth is yet to hear the rough mixes) so in the meantime there's single from these brummie popstars. A-Side is Gareth's girl pop protégés The Dumbettes whilst Misty's appear on the AA-side with There's Someone at The Window

yooouuutuuube is a rather genius website - stick a youtube link into it and it does weird and trippy things with it. We've tried a selection of SL videos, Paul Vickers and the Leg's "Paperboat" works rather well (you can watch the yooouuutuuube version here and the original video here)

Perhaps topically one of the best yoouuutuuube videos is Pogo's Alice in Wonderland track, nothing to do with us - but genius.

But be warned either your computer, mind, or both may be pushed to the max.

Misty's Big Adventure have been recording a track with star gazer Patrick Moore. He's narating a story called "General Confusion" which will be on their new album. Full details on Grandmaster Gareth's blog. No firm details on Misty's new album yet, but hopefully it'll be coming out in some way, shape or form soon.

Paul Vickers (of Paul Vickers and The Leg and Dawn of The Replicants) is, as has been mentioned before, a tireless workaholic. To keep himself busy he's written a Fringe show, that'll be performed at The Counting House Ballroom in August (12:10 to 13:00 from the 5th to the 29th of August 2010 apart from the 12th, 19th and the 26th).

This isn't Paul's first foray into comedy, his off the wall comedy can be found on Recording The Impossible, an album and pilot radio show made for the BBC. A new album "Fucking Storys" will be out this summer to coincide with the show.

Twonkey’s Cottage is an off-centre treasure trove of tall tales, featuring stories from across the globe and local. Tall stories to rival "The Adventures of Baron Munchausen" with a demented puppet show as first realised on a night train to Liechtenstein.......you have been warned

There's been a rash of Withered Hand covers recently, the mighty eagleowl has recorded a version of 'I Am Nothing', King Creosote has been playing 'No Cigarettes' and Enfant Bastard's done a glorious version of 'Song For The Maudlin' which you can hear on his myspace. And we've found more versions popping up online - I came across this rather nice version of 'Religious Songs' by Lovers Turn To Monsters - drop us an email if you come across any more and we'll post links up here.

We're collecting a nice selection of Withered Hand remixes. Swimmer One have been twiddling the knobs for B-side of the new Withered Hand single 'No Cigarettes' which will be out in March (more details soon) and the Wonderful Wowl! have created a grand version of 'New Dawn' (with the "Hey's" included!) - have a listen below.

Paul Vickers and The Leg's glorious new album Itchy Grumble is now in the shops. It's an epic rock opera that tells the tale of the immortal Itchy Grumble who is tasked, by the evil genius inventor The foreman, with revolved the lighthouse in the Firth of Forth.....probably best you have a listen.

It's garnered a slew of great reveiws: "firmly on the jazz-Hobbit pop ley line that conects Captain Beefheart, Tom Waits and Pere Ubu" Uncut; "The Jesus Lizard soundtracking The Wickerman" Mojo; "a concept so impenetrably surreal that even the Mighty Boosh might find it bewildering" The Scotsman; "devilish...leftfield neo-rock opera" The List and "Unlistenable Tosh".....thanks Q!

The band are playing Itchy live at The Bang Bang Club in Edinburgh on 13th March.

Thomas Truax, who's album of Songs From The Films Of David Lynch we released last year has been invited to the Glasgow Film Festival. He'll be playing Songs from the films of David Lynch, and no doubt some of his own material, on Tuesday night [23rd Feb] at Mono, tickets available from the GFF website, doors 8pm. Whilst he's up in Scotland he'll be playing Edinburgh on Thursday at The Wee Red Bar, Edinburgh Collage of Art with the wonderful Golden Ghosts. Tickets available from We Got Tickets

Thomas Truax' wonderful new album Sonic Dreamer hits the store this week

DiS says the album takes the best elements of anti-folk and combines them with his own lyrical dexterity and wonky outlook on life and Morning Star descibes Truax as one of the great rock eccentrics. Genius says The List whilst The Skinny loves The most deranged moments the best....opener Beehive Heart clicks and shudders as Truax laments his shoes’ vulnerability to coming untied despite no movement on his part.
