He’s mad as a box of frogs, this one. Paul Vickers (The List). The workahloic frontman of Dawn of the Replicants, a frequent collaborator with The Leg, a veteran of five John Peel Sessions and now a stand-up comedian, has a slew of great achievements under his belt. But never one to stand still he's constantly generating new and inoviative ideas.
Here's a new page that links to Paul's numerous projects

Paul's latest incarnation. He's performing Twonkey's Castle at this years Edinburgh Fringe festival and has an album and single out to coincide with the show. Called Oom Pah it's a comedy tour de force, featuring an array of spewcial guests and surprises. Preview the full thing here. Hot Beryl which sounds like Tom Waits going on a fringe bender
is the unlikely single and it's been given the low rider treatment by Mr Clutch Daisy
Paul Vickers and The Leg is a reckless amalgam of the lyrical maverick behind John Peel favourites Dawn of the Replicants and Dan Mutch's equally single-minded trio formed from the ashes of Khaya and Desc.
Paul Vickers and The Leg began working together when they were asked to contribute a track to The Art School Dance - a live DVD commemorating 100 years of Edinburgh College of Art. An album; ‘‘Tropical Favourites’ followed. Tracks from ‘Tropical Favourites’ attracted spins from Huw Stephens show on BBC Radio One, Rob Da Bank also Radio one, Vic Galloway on Radio Scotland and Marc Riley, Tom Robinson and Gideon Coe on B.B.C. 6 Music. Paul Vickers and The Leg also recorded sessions for Vic Galloway’s Radio Scotland show, Sky TV and enjoyed frequent video spins on MTV for their 'Paperboat' and 'Ballard of Bess Houdini' videos. They are currently working on ‘Itchy Grumble’ a rock opera epic.

Dawn of the Replicants - Galashiels finest exponents of wonk rock.
DOTR came together in 1996, yet in incestuous style (like many SL acts) they'd all previously played in each others bands and had all worked together on the acclaimed, yet ultimately ill fated, music mag Sun Zoom Spark. They released there debut EP themselves, signed to major label imprint East West (allegedly as a tax loss to offset Simple Red's ill gotten gains), got dropped and eventually found a home with SL Records in 2006 for their album Fangs.
Since being herald as the best new band in the UK by the 'London' Times in 1997, and being awarded the two singles of the week by the NME (back when such things counted!) they continued to receive a slew of impressive press coverage , were consistently championed by John Peel until his untimely death and have toured across Europe and North America.
The band are currently on hiatus, but that hasn't stopped them compiling "So Far So Spitfire", a collection of early tracks, demos and b-sides, a companion piece to 2007 Bust The Trunk, a collection of their singles from1997 - 2007. The band are all tireless workaholics and, even when the band has been at it's most active, have had numerous side projects on the go. As well as appearing in numerous bands, including SL signings Paul Vickers and The Leg, Replicants can be found running labels, studios, website, magazines, radio shows and a Fringe Festival comedy show - much of which is linked to over there...
